Art is a gateway that gives us the strength to confront the emotions we often hide from...
Wall Ball, Mural Arts Philadelphia’s annual gala fundraiser, is a fun and interactive event that brings together hundreds of Mural Arts supporters. This year we are transforming this exciting event into a memorable virtual experience. Please join us from the comfort of your own home as we commemorate leaders who exemplify positive change. We’ll celebrate Mural Arts’ Porch Light Program, whose aim is to achieve universal health and wellbeing among Philadelphians.
In the comfort of your own home.
Mural Arts Executive Director Jane Golden and Porch Light Director Nadia Malik will address the audience, highlighting two distinctive Mural Arts initiatives, the Kensington Storefront and Color Me Back: A Same Day Work and Pay Program. Created in partnership with the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, these programs foster unity and empathy among neighbors, while transforming public spaces.
Creating uplifts the human spirit and can have a positive impact on shaping reality.
Mural Arts Philadelphia celebrates
Daniel J. Hilferty for his leadership
in tackling the opioid crisis with
compassion, and for generous
support from Independence Blue
Cross, for our signature project in
Kensington, focused on healing
and transformation.
We honor Sandy and Stephen Sheller
for their dedication to Color Me Back,
an initiative that improves the lives
of those experiencing economic
insecurity by promoting art as a
vehicle for positive social change.
Nilé Livingston is a native of Philadelphia
whose ancestral roots in the city go back
three generations. She has been recognized
by Rad Girls, an organization that celebrates
women’s accomplishments; The Colored Girls
Museum, the only institution in the US
exclusively dedicated to the history of black
girls in America; and for her work with Mural
Arts Philadelphia. In 2020, Livingston was
ranked amongst Philly Magazine’s list of the
76 most influential people in Philadelphia.
Hank Willis Thomas is a conceptual
artist working primarily with themes
related to perspective, identity,
commodity, media, and popular
culture. Thomas’ collaborations and
artwork with Mural Arts Philadelphia
has been inspirational and includes

strength directly across from City Hall.
